AFGHANISTAN – Tribal metallic embroidered Papier Mache hat. Fine metallic embroidery covers all of the surface. Upper dome part is divided into four sections with lattice design when lower band has diagonal form of lattice drawing. 4 is the holy number in Islam, representing four Holy books, four Caliphs and more. Lining in these hats are always old paper and they only use flour as glue which is sacred in Islam religion. Most of lining has gone. They wrap a turban in lower part of such hats. It is used for a short while and it is in very good condition.
