CENTRAL EAST ANATOLIA – TURKEY Hand forged iron weaving comb. A primitive trident shape weaving comb was used only by some Kurdish tribes as seen on the photo ( CREDIT – American Nomad – Joshephine Powell ). They are weaving on a goat hair foundation and they need something heavy to give strong pressure to wefts those are horizontal yarns to cover the goat hair vertical warps yarns, it is the brick madder red stripe being woven here. It has simple chiseled lines on both sides. Only one little iron loop survived on one side which was making a melody when being used so that weaver can keep up with weaving and not bored.
