ISTANBUL – SULEYMANIYE / Soleyman double beaked copper pitcher. This copper pitcher is one of the type of Suleymaniye brass bazaar, next to Suleyman the Magnificent GRAND Mosque. Copper master artists still survive in Suleymaniye today and make the tradition survive. Double beaks makes it one of a kind. It may even belonged to a dignitary working for the Palace since it has a sultans seal on the neck. The roundel ribbed body style takes it back to classical days period. Once, it had overall tin over the body to protect from corroding. Over the years, being used made the tin worn down.
