CENTRAL EAST TURKEY hand forged antique mini copper butter container. Amazing what they have to create to keep butter inside and tie it on top with fabrics. The lid fits pretty tight. Depiction of palm trees indicate MARDIN – URFA area of TURKEY. It has man’s name “HAFIZ” on the neck and Ottoman sultan’s seal “Tugra” from 1800’s. The chain with hook at the end tell us that it was used somewhere by hanging. It was probably a regular use – probably in a food making kitchen etc. Great condition.
