Dear Mercedes,

It might be because of being in a damp place for a good time or it might be ironed and they may used some starch etc. I did not do anything to it. It came from central Asia. For YOU to know I think it is Turkmen not UZBEK. Because lining material is well known Turkmen printed cotton fabric alone with facing – and I believe the blue background part is also Turkmen – I cant decide which tribe.. but it is probably Tekke – Yomud Turkmens are much more conservative compare to Tekke tribe.

I think, it would be great if you dump it into cold water and move it around a bit with your hand – I mean push and turn it over and move it for about 1 minute 30 seconds.. And squeeze it with help of someone by twisting nicely and lay it flat on a hot hard floor where it is hot from sun by noon time.. and turn it over after 20-30 minutes and one more time and you can hang it, it will dry faster with some air and wind.. Some people take it inside and use a fan blowing air on it after they dry it outside a bit.
